I have been painting like mad to finish a job that a friend asked me to do. It is a roll-up blind and I painted the design (from a wallpaper sample) freehand using acrylic paints, I varied the design, and enlarged it to about twice the height, trying to maintain the correct proportions.
This is a new style for me, since it is less smudgy than what I usually do and it has a lot of geometric patterns in it. The dots are very precisely placed, the plaid flowers are very precise, the proportions are all related one to another. I didn’t think I could do it, so I was thrilled when it turned out nicely. I wish I could have done the entire backdrop in the pink, but I didn’t want to do the whole blind and have it stick to itself and flake.
Now I want to do blinds for my own house. Look at the colors. I have so much paint that I had all the colors on hand and was able to mix paints to make a great match, I have to charge her for the paints so that I can replenish my stock, but wasn’t it great that I actually had what she needed? I was amazed.
Want a set of blinds? Let me know. This I can do. Oh, and I want to start painting rocks.

Aww, LOVE ‘em! I really love dragonflies. I do need a blind for my kitchen window. I have tan walls and Americana designed stuff. So how much would that cost to do? I’ll get the measurements.
June, I have to figure out first of all, if I can do Americana, you might send me an idea of what you have and how much time it would take. Pricing is really hard for me.
