Anji’s Fairies
April 24, 2008 by JanB
Anji, thanks for the idea. I had a lot of fun fixing this painting. I can’t wait to try some more fairies. I put some gold and white metalic paint rimming some of the flowers and butterflies and added some other little flowers on the border. Not sure what they are, but they just popped out of the brush. I wish this thing photographed a little better, it’s not quite as shiny in real life. My next project is to build myself a softbox to light my paintings so that I can photograph them while they are wet.

a few years ago I went to an art gallery in Toronto and they had a fairies exhibit…

(it’s the fifth one down)
and some of those paintings were really awesome! Some were really, freakin’ freaky scary, with demonic almost fairies… a few of the paintings were painted by mental patients I think, one being a sociopath from what I remember. Let’s just say, I had never seen a fairy painting so disturbing… so I’ll try and focus on the fun ones!
Looks good, glad it turned out!
PS, great soft-box idea, could have come in handy like, 10 years ago! haha
Love it!!! It just totally brings it to life. They were meant to be in there-flying through the flowers.
oh, i love the fairies! we’re rather fond of them here in our house. i have them on the wall in my bedroom on/in the willow tree. (it’s a sort of painting - tatougedesigns.com)
